The York and North Yorkshire Local Enterprise Partnership is geographically the largest, rural, LEP area in the UK. Covering York and North Yorkshire, it is a diverse and robust economy with 32,250 micro and small businesses, those who have less than 50 employees, making up 98.5 per cent of all businesses based in the region.

Its vision is for York and North Yorkshire to become England’s first carbon negative region by transforming the way the economy works and delivering a carbon negative, circular economy increasing productivity and providing higher paid jobs

Our vision, for recovery from COVID-19, laid out in our Local Industrial Strategy and in our ambitions for Devolution, is for a greener, fairer, stronger economy for our residents, businesses and communities.  We are recruiting a new LEP Chair for our main board to help shape and deliver our vision for the region. You will play a key role in providing visible leadership in driving the growth of our region’s economy, as well as leading and developing an effective and dynamic LEP Board to accelerate opportunities for innovation and change across the region.

To ensure that the York and North Yorkshire LEP can provide the very best support to the region, we are looking for a dynamic, passionate business leader who can lead with curiosity and kindness to bring the very best out of the LEPs main board.
